Hacienda Brickworks

masonry, outdoor kitchen, pergolas, lighting design, horticulture
GO Designs transforms this hacienda-style property into a textural symphony of brick, fire, and shade. The entry sequence centers on a raised fountain framed by curved masonry beds, with brick pavers in varying hues of rust, clay, and rose grounding the experience. Carefully pruned Texas sage and boxwood border the path, guiding guests toward a wrought-iron gate that hints at what lies beyond. Just steps away, an outdoor kitchen takes shape under custom pergolas—stained timber lattices that temper the desert sun while casting striped shadows across smooth countertops. The design features a domed, stucco-clad pizza oven as its sculptural focal point, paired with a stainless-steel grill and a full prep station. Subtle up-lighting embedded in the masonry walls brings evening ambiance, while oversized red barstools deliver a punch of color without overpowering the material palette. Every surface feels deliberate—from the tactile warmth of the brick underfoot to the cool shade offered by mature palms and pine. A manicured lawn flows outward, stitched with curved paths and framed in mesquite and flowering perennials, tying hardscape and horticulture into a singular, Southwestern story. Cantera planters and terracotta pots punctuate the transitions between zones, echoing the home’s arched doorways and saltillo rooflines without upstaging them. This is desert modern design with roots—equal parts functional and regional, built to endure long summers and longer evenings. GO Designs leveraged timeless materials and strategic lighting to craft a layered outdoor living space that welcomes both lively gatherings and quiet moments. Here, even the scent of woodsmoke feels intentional.

Blue Ember Retreat

masonry, spa, pergolas, outdoor kitchen, fire features, lighting design, hardscape installation
GO Designs transforms a compact suburban lot into a shimmering retreat that distills desert modern design into water, flame, and timber. A pergola of rough-sawn beams throws geometric shadows across electric-blue spa water, where built-in jets hiss and steam against the cool evening air. Just steps away, a masonry outdoor kitchen anchors al fresco feasts, its smoker sending a faint mesquite aroma that mingles with the crackle of a circular fire feature rimmed in buttery limestone. Flagstone pads float over chihuahuan gravel to guide bare feet between gathering zones, while low-voltage lighting design tucks beneath bench edges and pergola rafters, keeping sightlines clear of glare. Crisp cedar privacy screens temper West Texas wind, double as a warm backdrop, and hide utilities without fuss. Artificial turf rings the spa for season-long greenery and minimal upkeep, echoing GO Designs’ commitment to resource-smart El Paso landscaping. Every detail favors sensory delight and durability: rust-resistant steel posts, a high-efficiency spa pump, and drainage basins hidden beneath seating. The layout stacks functions efficiently—soaking, grilling, dining, and storytelling by fire—yet leaves generous breathing room for future agave accents. With seamless hardscape installation and masonry craft, the space glows long after sunset, blue jets glimmering against ember light. Custom cedar benches cantilever over gravel mulch, offering tactile warmth and resisting splintering under desert sun. An integrated mist line concealed along pergola beams drops air temperature by up to ten degrees during August highs, while dimmable LEDs encourage lingering conversation. Subsurface conduit future-proofs the site for audio or irrigation lines, affirming GO Designs’ habit of planning three steps ahead. Cedar screens dampen pump hum, and the smooth concrete slab swallows footfall. Every surface sheds stormwater toward a hidden acequia-style channel, returning precious drops to native beds beyond the fence.

Entertainer’s Spa Courtyard

spa, pool, outdoor kitchen, fire features, lighting design
GO Designs transformed this compact backyard into a sensory-rich courtyard anchored by a multifunctional spool—a hybrid spa and plunge pool that glows violet at dusk. Crisp concrete paving ties each functional zone together, from the sleek outdoor kitchen to the cedar-clad dining area beneath a slatted pergola. Just steps from the water, a copper-toned fire bowl promises warmth on chilly desert evenings, while overhead string lights hum with ambient charm. The design balances bold lines and soft textures, with matte granite counters, mesh-backed chairs, and woven accents grounding the scene in tactile sophistication. A signature touch from GO Designs is how every element earns its place: the wall-mounted TVs double as focal points and practical upgrades, while the extended counter at the grilling station invites long conversations over late bites. Natural materials nod to the region’s roots—note the stacked rock boundary wall built from quarried stone native to the El Paso foothills, subtly echoing the golden hues of nearby caliche. Daylight pours through the open rafters, tracing sharp shadows across the striped outdoor rug, while at night, a gentle cascade of water sounds from the activated spa sets the tone for starlit unwinding. This courtyard embraces desert modern design with discipline and flair, designed to perform as hard as it pampers. Thanks to strategic lighting, climate-smart hardscapes, and the spa’s integrated circulation system, the setup delivers year-round enjoyment with minimal upkeep. It’s an El Paso landscaping story told in warm textures, cool water, and flickering flame—just the kind of harmony GO Designs builds its name on.

Stonewall Bloom Court

horticulture, irrigation, xeriscaping, hardscape installation
GO Designs transforms a sun-baked suburban parcel into a lively neighborhood showcase, pairing El Paso landscaping expertise with deliberate, desert modern design moves. A curved pea-gravel footpath sweeps visitors past a velvety lawn that cools bare feet even in August. Tall canna lilies flash crimson against the existing stone wall, while low sedum and flame honeysuckle quilt the mulch with contrasting texture. Young mesquite trees anchor the sightline, their leaves whispering above the soft hiss of concealed irrigation emitters. Hardy shrubs sit atop chihuahuan gravel berms, capturing stormwater and easing drainage toward an acequia-inspired swale. The team selected drought-tempered species—Mexican feather grass, rosemary, and butterfly bush—so honeyed fragrance mingles with the crackle of dry bark after sundown. Hand-troweled edging defines beds without relying on metal, inviting gardeners to refresh mulch by touch rather than tool. Behind the scenes, a high-efficiency controller rations water in five-minute pulses before dawn, guaranteeing thriving color while trimming consumption. Root-zone sensors upload moisture data, allowing seasonal adjustments without guesswork. During monsoon bursts, a discreet drainfield routes runoff away from the patio, preserving the soil’s crumbly structure. All hardscape installation follows laser-guided grades, and the gentle slope avoids the need for retaining walls while setting the stage for future expansion. Seasonal color will unfold as desert marigold and red yucca strike sunny notes from spring through frost, keeping pollinators busy and the scene dynamic year-round. Evening lighting will arrive in phase two, yet the design already leverages reflected dusk glow off the wall’s warm sandstone. Families lounge on the lawn, listen to cicadas, and watch moonlight silver the canna leaves. By integrating water-wise horticulture, intelligent irrigation, and textural hardscape, GO Designs proves that sustainability amplifies beauty, not cost.
